Salisbury, MD – Top-ranked Salisbury University got five goals from Josh Melton and four from Tyler Snyder as the Sea Gulls cruised to a 23-1 victory over Montclair State at Sea Gull Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Cross Ferrara added three goals as Salisbury (8-0) held the Red Hawks scoreless over the final 50 minutes of the contest to remain unbeaten.
STEVE PRINCE had the lone goal for Montclair (3-3), which had its three-game winning streak snapped.
Zach Pompea got Salisbury on the board 50 seconds into the contest and Ferrara's goal a minute later made the score 2-0. Corey Gwin added the next two before the Red Hawks scored with 5:20 left on Prince's tally as the Sea Gulls held a 4-1 lead heading into the second.
Salisbury exploded for eight goals in the second starting with Snyder's man-up tally 16 seconds into the period. Melton collected his first with 13:17 to play and goals by Ferrara and Snyder 40 seconds apart pushed the lead to 8-1. Melton connected with 9:40 to play and Snyder's third with under six minutes to go gave Salisbury a nine-goal advantage. Ferrara added a man-up goal 41 seconds later with Pierre Armstrong scoring in the final 1:14 as the Sea Gulls led 12-1 at the break.
VINNY SCARLATELLA had three ground balls and forced a pair of turnovers for MSU. Goalkeepers

The Red Hawks will have another lengthy break as it is off until Tuesday, March 26 when it heads to Hoboken, NJ to face 12
th-ranked Stevens at 7:00 pm.
