Montclair, NJ – Senior
CHELSEA ORBAN scored four times while
MEGAN MAHLSTADT added three goals and an assist as Montclair State put the first 10 goals on the board in a 15-4 victory over Ramapo College at Sprague Field on Tuesday evening.
KYLE GRAVER and
CASEY PROVOST each added a goal and four assists as the Red Hawks improved to 9-7 overall 3-2 in the NJAC with the win. MSU also stayed perfect against the Roadrunners (6-8, 0-4 NJAC) winning for the 10
th straight time.
Sophomore
BRITTANY COSTIGAN scored twice and pulled down eight draws as she broke her own single-season record set last season. Costigan, who added three caused turnovers, has 124 for the season surpassing her 2018 mark of 121.
The Red Hawks put five goals on the board in the first 6:40 of the contest. Costigan scored off a
KYLE GRAVER assist 56 seconds in with Orban netting her first with 28:45 left making the score 2-0. Mahlstadt and Costigan connected 50 seconds part before Orban's second with 23:30 to go giving Montclair State the 5-0 advantage.
Provost recorded her first goal 10 minutes later and scores by Mahlstadt and
MICHAELAH REYNOLDS 34 seconds apart helped increase the lead to 8-0. Orban collected the hat trick with 9:09 left before
AMBER GONZALEZ capped the game-opening run a little more than a minute later.
Molly Warner stopped the streak with the Roadrunners lone goal. Graver scored with 2:03 left as the Red Hawks led 11-1 at halftime.
Goalkeepers
AMANDA MAGUIRE and
ALLYN LILIEN posted four and seven saves, respectively.
Montclair closes out its regular-season scheduled on Friday, April 26 as it heads to Galloway, NJ for a 7:00 pm matchup with Stockton University.
