SYDNEE SAPP and
KYLE GRAVER each scored four goals, but the Montclair State women's lacrosse team fell to the Rochester Institute of Technology 15-14 Monday.
The Red Hawks (2-2) had a chance to tie the game with 38 seconds left but were denied on an eight-meter attempt. The Tigers (1-1) received six saves from goalkeeper Rebekah Snitkoff.
Junior
BRITTANY COSTIGAN tallied three goals and an assist, as senior
MEGAN MAHLSTADT handed out for assists.
TRISTIN KONEN netted two goals while
MORGAN CONNON added one. Costigan and
AMBER GONZALEZ combined for eight goals. Senior
AMANDA MAGUIRE made seven saves while
ALLYN LILIEN made two in the second half.
Alanna Fallone led RIT with five goals and four ground balls, as Olivia Africa scored four times and added an assist.
The Red Hawks will return home to face Muhlenberg College on Saturday at 1 pm. Montclair is 6-3 all-time against Mules, including victories in each of the last two seasons. Costigan and Sapp combined for nine goals in last season's 19-9 triumph.
