CARLY WATERMAN posed a double-double of 14 kills and 10 digs as Montclair State extended its winning streak to 10 with a four-set victory over local rival William Paterson on Thursday evening.

LEAH HIGGINS added eight kills for the Red Hawks (14-7, 6-1 NJAC), who dropped the first set 25-16 before claiming the final three sets, 25-19, 25-16, and 25-18. It was MSU's 11
th consecutive win against the Pioneers as it took a 25-16 lead in the all-time series.
Montclair held a 15-13 lead in the opening set until the Pioneers went on to record 12 of the final 13 points. Kathleen Burrough had a kill in a four-point spurt that put WPU on top and added three more in a set-ending 8-0 run.
The Red Hawks bounced back in the second set, starting with a 5-0 run to take an early lead.
NADYA ACKERMANIAN had a kill and block in that span for MSU, which later trailed 14-13 after Dakota Apicella put down a kill for William Paterson. Montclair State countered with an 8-2 run building a 21-16 advantage. WPU closed within 22-18, however, Higgins and
KATIE RODMAN each had kills with Higgins and
GIANNA ARIAS pulling off a block on the final point as the Red Hawks squared the match at a set apiece.
In the third, Montclair fell behind 10-6 and trailed 13-9 until a massive 14-point explosion. Waterman had five kills with
SKYLAR KOWALSKI adding two as Montclair State turned that four-point deficit into a 23-13 lead. The Pioneers recorded three of the next four points, but
DELANEY ST. PIERRE ended the set with a kill.
MSU jumped out to a 9-4 lead in the fourth only to see WPU battle back to tie it up at 9-9. The teams stayed close to one another with Montclair State using a five-point run to pull away. Ackermanian had a kill, Kowalski a block, and
KATELYN MONAGHAN an ace helping the Red Hawks build a 22-16 lead. The Pioneers got within 22-18 on the next two rallies, however, Montclair closed out the match with the last three, including a kill from St. Pierre on match point.
St. Pierre finished with 34 assists four aces, four kills, and five digs for Montclair State. Kowalski had six kills and four blocks with Ackermanian adding six and three blocks. Monaghan topped MSU with 22 digs with
KIARA POLANCO registering 17 digs.
The Red Hawks head to Hunter College on Saturday, October 16 for its next pair of matches. MSU faces the host Hawks at 10:00 am followed by a Noon contest with Mount St. Mary.
