LUCAS GOMES and
SPENSER DUBOIS each won three individuals events and joined a relay for a fourth victory as the Montclair State men's swimming and diving team swept their tri-meet with host Drew University and Moravian College on Friday evening.
AMBER ROCHELEAU and diver
HANNAH GEIB each posted two individual event wins as the Red Hawk women (1-2) split their meet, beating Moravian (248-23) and falling to Drew (170.5-129.50). The MSU men's team (2-1) registered a 151-37 victory against Drew and downed Moravian 238-20.
Gomes and Dubois got Montclair State off to a solid start as they comprised half of the 200 medley relay team.
DENNIS DELARGY and
TYLER DORSETT were the other half as the quartet combined on a time of 1:37.71. Dubois would posted win in the 200 free style (1:48.49) and took top honors in the 50 breaststroke (27.62) and 100 breaststroke (59.95).
Gomes earned his wins in two different strokes, claiming first in the 50 freestyle (22.01) and the 100 freestyle (48.09) before getting his third in the 50 butterfly (23.71).
ALEX PALLEN swept the diving events posting a score of 212.93 in the one-meter event before taking top honors in the 3-meter event.
For the women, Rocheleau was a winner in the 100 breaststroke clocking in with a time of 1:09.82. She later added the 100 individual medley relay to her performance, posting a time of 1:02.73.
ABBY BROCK, the NJAC Rookie of the Week, finished first in the 50 breaststroke (32.38) with
LIDIA BOGUSLAWSKA,
JULIANA SKOPP-CARDILLO,
JULIET DI PASQUALE and
SOPHIA CIARAVINO teaming up to win the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:43.68.
Geib recorded a score of 178.65 to win the 1-meter event and later swept the diving events with a victory in the three-meter.
Montclair State is back in action on Saturday, October 30 hosting Vassar College at the Panzer Pool beginning at 1:00 pm.
