Brooklyn, NY – The Montclair State volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday as the Red Hawks fell to Stevens and Catholic University.
The Red Hawks fell to 17-10 on the season as they dropped a three-set match with in-state rival Stevens, including tough 28-26 and 26-24 losses in the final two sets. Montclair would win the first set versus Catholic 25-22, but fell in the final three 25-23, 25-23 and 25-21.
Freshman
KIARA POLANCO had seven kills and eight digs for Montclair in the loss to Stevens.
LEAH HIGGINS and
VICTORIA TENNON each added six with
GIANNA ARIAS totaling four along with three blocks.
DELANEY ST. PIERRE had 22 assists and three kills with libero
KATELYN MONAGHAN registering nine digs.
CASSI WAGEMANN contributed with eight kills and one service ace.
Higgins led the way in the setback against Catholic with 13 kills along with three digs. Tennon and Polanco chipped in with nine apiece. Arias had six kills and four blocks. St. Pierre collected 42 assists along with seven digs with Monaghan notching a team-best 14 digs.
Montclair State is back in action on Tuesday, October 26 with its final NJAC match. MSU will be in Jersey City, NJ taking on New Jersey City at 7:00 pm.
