Volleyball: Gameday Preview vs. Vassar

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State volleyball team closes out the regular season with an away match at Vassar College Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (18-10, 7-1 NJAC) clinched the No. 2 seed in next week's NJAC Tournament as they downed NJCU in straight sets. LEAH HIGGINS tallied 12 kills and four blocks, while SKYLAR KOWALSKI notched six kills and six blocks.

VASSAR REPORT
The Brewers enter the match at 7-11, including a 2-5 mark in the Liberty League. Vassar is coming off a three-set loss to NYU last night. Earlier in the week, they topped New Paltz in four sets. Hailey Hayes powered the Brewers with 14 kills while Madison Wilson handed out 28 assists.

LAST MEETING
Montclair topped Vassar 3-0 on September 20, 2019. LEAH HIGGINS recorded a team-high 13 kills while CARLY WATERMAN posted a double-double of 12 kills and 11 digs.

SERIES HISTORY
Vassar is 3-6 all-time against the Brewers but has claimed wins in the last two meetings. The Brewers had a four-match winning streak from 2008-2012 and opened the series with wins in six of the first seven matchups.

UP NEXT
The Red Hawks will host either No. 3 seed Stockton University or No. 6 seed William Paterson in the first round of the NJAC Tournament on Tuesday at 7 pm inside the Panzer Athletic Center.
