Field Hockey: Gameday Preview vs. William Paterson

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State field hockey team hosts William Paterson University in New Jersey Athletic Conference play Wednesday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks were knocked off by No. 11 Rowan University in the NJAC opener on Friday afternoon. Goalkeeper LAUREN PICKUL notched a season-best 18 saves in the setback.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
The Pioneers, who claimed the NJAC Championship last spring, enter with a 6-3 record. They fell 4-1 in their NJAC opener on Saturday to No. 7 TCNJ. William Paterson and MSU both lost at Vassar, while both knocked off FDU-Florham 2-1.

LAST MEETING
Montclair topped WPU 1-0 in their last meeting on October 23, 2019. ELIZABETH CIMILLUCA scored the lone goal in the 26th minute, while Nicole Andriani earned the shutout without facing a shot on goal.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 51-23-4 all-time against the Pioneers, including 10 consecutive victories. William Paterson last earned a win in 2010, and their last triumph in Montclair was on October 2, 2007.
