Box Score Union, NJ – Kean University running back Donte Jamison rushed for a pair of touchdowns as Kean University downed Montclair State, 15-7 in the season finale for both teams on Saturday.
Jamison rushed for 167 yards and the Cougars also recorded a safety as they finished the year 4-5, 4-2 in the NJAC.

Safety MIKE RAMOS posted 13 tackles and a pair of sacks for MSU, which ended the year at 3-7 overall, 2-4 in conference play.

Scoreless through the first quarter, Kean took advantage of short field as a punt set the Cougars up on the Montclair 37-yard line with 97 seconds left. Three plays later, and the first of the second quarter, Jamison burst for a 29-yard touchdown giving the Cougars a 6-0 lead with 14:49 left. AUSTIN SMITH blocked the extra points.

The Red Hawks missed out on an opportunity to get back even late in the second. Ramos recorded the triple-play with a sack, forced fumble and recover giving Montclair the ball at the Kean 10.
ABELLANY MENDEZ rushed twice to the Cougar 1, but thrown for a loss on the next play setting up a 4^th-and-2 at the KU 2. MSU then mishandled the snap turning the ball over as Montclair headed into the locker room down, 6-0.

It was another quick strike score for Kean to open the third as Jamison raced 73 yards on the first play from scrimmage for a touchdown, extending the Cougar lead to 13-0. The advantage was added to with two points on a safety with 6:46 left as another snap was mishandled on a punt attempt.

Held in check for most of the game, the Red Hawks put together a scoring drive late. JAMIE HAMILTON pulled in a 23-yard pass from JA'QUILL BURCH for the touchdown. However, the score would come with just 14 seconds remaining and the Cougars sealed the game by recovering the onsides kick.

BRENNAN RAY, DORIAN GASHI and ALEX BUCHWALD each had eight tackles.
