Men's Basketball: Game Day Preview vs. Kean

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State men's basketball team visits Kean University in the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener Tuesday evening.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks clipped Centenary University 107-106 on Saturday. Junior guard KEYON PRYCE poured in a career-high 28 points while senior IRVING CALLENDER IV notched a double-double with career-highs of 22 points and 15 rebounds. Those two, along with STEVEN BREEMAN, DEVIN COOPER, GREG ECK, and KYREE HENRY all scored in double figures as the Red Hawks scored over 100 points for the second straight game.

SCOUTING KEAN
The Cougars are a perfect 5-0 and won the AJ Buchanan Classic, which was hosted by Manhattanville College this past weekend. They topped Trinity College 76-69 in the opener before knocking off Brooklyn College 61-58 in the finale Saturday. Patrick Strzala was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player and scored 22 points in the win over Brooklyn.
 
LAST MEETING
The Red Hawks knocked off Kean 76-61 on February 13 last season and received double-doubles from IRVING CALLENDER IV (19 points and 10 rebounds) and STEVEN BREEMAN (17 points and 10 rebounds). Myles Mitchell-white matched Callender with 19 points in the victory.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 99-45 all-time against Kean and snapped a two-game losing streak with their win last February. Before the two-game skid, the Red Hawks had taken 12 of the previous 13 matchups dating back to 2014.
