Staten Island, NY – The Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams closed out the 2021 portion of their meet schedule on Friday with a sweep at College of Staten Island. The men, now 4-2 on the year, recorded at 117-72 victory with the women (4-2-1) downing the Dolphins 102-72.
The Red Hawks opened the meet by taking both sides of the 200 medley relay. The women's group of
SKYE SENER,
ABBY BROCK,
GIANNA ANTONELLI, and
SOPHIA CIARAVINO posted a time of 1:58.69 with
JUSTIN CONILLAS,
SPENSER DUBOIS ,
LUCAS GOMES, and
GREG KARBACK clocking in at 1:38.95.
MOLLY GRAY (11:50.40) and
RYAN KAPPES (10:18.74) won their respective 1000 freestyle events and Montclair did the same in the 50 freestyle as Ciaravino (26.34) and Gomes (21.82) took the top spots.
JULIET DI PASQUALE swam 2:23.44 in the 200 IM to place first and the Red Hawks went 1-2 in the even on the men's side.
TYLER DORSETT won with a time of 2:07.84 with Conillas second at 2:08.77.
LIDIA BOGUSLAWSKA won two events as she claimed the 100 butterfly (1:01.60) and the 500 freestyle (5:42.06).
JULIE TIEDEMANN captured the 100 freestyle (57.03) and
EMILY ROTHAMEL placed first in the 100 backstroke (1:04.42).
TYLER DORSETT swam 54.56 to win the 100 fly on the men's side. Dennis Delargy (54.99) earned the top spot in the 100 backstroke with Kappes adding a second win in the 500 freestyle (4:57.03).
ALEX PALLEN recorded a score of 205.10 points to win the 1-meter diving event.
The Red Hawks capped off the evening the same way it started – sweeping a relay event. Tiedemann,

EMMA BOWERS, and
MOLLY MOORE combined on the time of 1:49.72 in the 200 freestyle relay. Delargy, Karback,
JOSH ZITOMER, and Dubois posted a time of 1:31.71.
MSU will be out of action until early January when it goes on its Training Trip to Clearwater, FL from January 8-15. The Red Hawks' first meet action takes place on Wednesday, January 19 at home against FDU-Florham at 3:00 pm.
