Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State men's basketball looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season as they host Kean University in the second half of their home-and-home set with the Cougars this weekend.

THE TEAMS:
The Cougars captured the first meeting on Friday evening, using a 20-10 run over the final six-plus minute to record a 90-85 victory at Harwood Arena in Union, NJ. Jailen Jamison and JD Daniels accounted for 15 of those 20 points and finished with 25 and 22 points, respectively. Kean came up clutch at the foul line in that stretch making 9-of-12 attempts. The win was also the first for new head coach David Turco. Montclair State put five players in double figures led by senior IRVING CALLENDER IV and freshman AMIR WILLIAMS, who had 17 points apiece. Sophomore guard Keyon Price totaled 13 with guard DEVIN COOPER adding 11 along with seven assists. STEVEN BREEMAN chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.

Montclair defeated then Newark State in that first contest, 33-19 and since then they have 142 more times including Friday night's …… The Red Hawks have had the upper hand in the series of late winning 11 of the last 14 although the Cougars have won the last two, including Friday night's win as well as a 79-75 triumph last January that snapped a nine-game MSU winning streak.
