ALL-TIME SERIES: (MSU Leads 65-43)
Friday's contest is the 109th meeting between the Scarlet Raiders and Red Hawks that dates back to 1940, a 66-38 win by Montclair State. The Scarlet Raiders captured four the first six meetings before MSU won 13 straight contests from 1950-65, the longest by either team series history. Rutgers-Newark would come within a win of matching that streak from 2012-2017. Over the last 10 games, Rutgers-Newark has won six of those, however, the Red Hawks have been victorious in four of the last six, including a 77-73 triumph in the last meeting in February 2020. The teams have met three times in the NJAC Tournament with Rutgers-Newark claiming all three contests (2005, 2009 and 2014).

LAST 5 MEETINGS
2/12/2020: MSU 77, Rutgers-Newark 73 (at MSU)
1/8/2020: Rutgers-Newark 58, MSU 29 (at R-N)
2/6/2019: Rutgers-Newark 67, MSU 58 (at R-N)
12/12/2018: MSU 59, Rutgers-Newark 55 (at MSU)
1/20/2018: MSU 82, Rutgers-Newark 57 (at R-N)

NEXT UP: The teams conclude their home-and-home set on Saturday, February 20 at the Golden Dome in Newark. Montclair then faces New Jersey City in its final regular-season matchups on February 26 (home) and 27 (away).
