ALL-TIME SERIES: (MSU Leads 95-78)
One of the oldest and longest series in Montclair State men's basketball history, Saturday's game marks the 174
th meeting between the Gothic Knights and Red Hawks. The first meeting took place back in 1933 with MSU prevailing 33-23. Montclair State would win the first 14 games before New Jersey City broke through with a one-point win (33-32) during the 1939-40 campaign. Each team would have their share of winning streaks in the series. Montclair State recorded a 26-game run between 1943 through the 1958 season while the Gothic Knights collected 11 consecutive wins from 1987-1992. Of the 173 previous contests, five have come during postseason play with NJCU capturing three, including two NJAC Championship Game victories in 1994 and 2011. In the most recent matchups, the Gothic Knights have won six of the last 10, including Friday's 76-67 triumph in Jersey City.
