Red Hawks Look For Second Straight Victory as They Host Rhodes

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State field hockey team returns home to host Rhodes College Friday evening.

Game time is scheduled for 7 pm at Sprague Field and live stats and video are available on montclairathletics.com. Video can also be found on the Red Hawk Sports Network YouTube Channel.

LAST TIME OUT 
The Red Hawks notched a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Stevens Wednesday evening. The Ducks opened the scoring in the ninth minute before Montclair tallied twice in the second half. CARLEE THOMPSON netted her first career marker in the 41st minute before CARLIE VAN TASSEL netted the game-winner in the 55th minute. LINDSEY BICHER notched assists on both Red Hawk goals in the victory.

SCOUTING RHODES
The Lynx are currently 2-0 on the season, knocking off Denison 3-2 in double overtime before topping Depauw 2-1. In the win over Denison, the Lynx fell behind 2-0 before Sophie Croci tallied three consecutive goals to give them the 3-2 victory.
 
LAST MEETING

The Red Hawks and Lynx last met on October 17, 2015, with MSU coming away with a 4-1 win. Maura Johnston tallied two goals, while Charisse Myers added a pair of assists.
 
SERIES HISTORY

Montclair has picked up wins in both previous matchups against the Lynx. The first win came in the First Round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, winning 3-2 in overtime. Devin McNamara scored twice in the first half, but Lynx battled back to force overtime. Brittany Carroll tallied the game-winner in the 92nd minute to send the Red Hawks through to the Second Round.
 
UP NEXT

On Wednesday, the Red Hawks hit the road as they travel to Poughkeepsie, NY, to face Vasser College at 7 pm.
