Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State volleyball team hosts Farmingdale State and SUNY New Paltz in a home tri-match Saturday.

FARMINGDALE STATE REPORT
Farmingdale enters the weekend 3-5 overall, winning three of its last four games, including Tuesday in a five-set win over Baruch. The Rams offense has struggled, hitting just .116. Freshman outside Cathleen Farrell leads the team with 53 kills, while junior outside Katie Flamio followed with 48 kills on the year. Sophomore Lexi Cavalieri has totaled 125 assists for Farmingdale while also pacing her team with eight aces on the season.
SCOUTING NEW PALTZ
After a rough five-game start to the season where the Hawks went winless, the team rebounded with three wins at the Hawks Invitational this past weekend. They then opened up SUNYAC play on the road Tuesday against SUNY Oneonta and picked up a straight-set victory to move the winning streak to four.
LAST MEETING
The Red Hawks downed Farmingdale State 3-1 in their last meeting on September 10, 2016, as Hayley Merrill led the way with a double-double of 13 kills and 10 digs. New Paltz knocked off Montclair 3-1 in their previous matchup on September 17, 2017, with Schyler White pounding home 12 kills and Lily Scanzillo collecting 27 digs.
SERIES HISTORY
Montclair State is 3-8 all-time against New Paltz, with their last win on September 1, 2015. The team had dropped the previous six meetings before the win in 2015. Against Farmingdale, MSU is 9-2 and has won four consecutive matches. Of the four victories, three have been by a 3-0 margin.
