Gettysburg, PA – The Montclair State volleyball team split its final two matches in the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic on Saturday. MSU (1-3) swept past Penn State – Berks before falling to Messiah College in four sets.
Senior
CARLY WATERMAN registered 20 kills and 15 digs on the day and named to the All-Tournament Team.
Waterman collected 10 kills and five digs in the victory over the Nittany Lions as Montclair took the match 25-15, 25-18 and 25-16. Freshman
KIARA POLANCO added eight kills and 11 digs with classmate
NADYA ACKERMANIAN totaling seven and two digs.
DELANEY ST. PIERRE notched 35 assists and served up three aces and libero
KATELYN MONAGHAN led the way with 14 digs.
Polanco led Montclair State with 13 digs as the Red Hawks fell to the Falcons (2-2). After winning the second set 25-23 to even the match, MSU dropped the last two by scores of 25-13 and 25-18. Waterman had a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs. Ackermanian added nine kills. St. Pierre chalked up another 36 assists with Monaghan putting up 14 digs for the second straight match.
MSU is now off until Thursday, September 9 when it hosts Drew University in its home opener at the Panzer Athletic Center. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
