Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State men's basketball team hosts The College of New Jersey in New Jersey Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon.

LAST TIME OUT
On Wednesday evening, Montclair State (8-6, 5-5 NJAC) notched an 80-74 victory over Kean University. The Red Hawks led by 13 with 8:37 left, thanks to two free throws from FRANCISCO PAULINO, but the Cougars closed within one with 1:52 left. KIERAN FLANAGAN hit a layup, drew the foul, and converted the free to re-establish a two-possession game. On the next trip down the floor, KEYON PRYCE drained a three-pointer that helped seal the win for the Red Hawks. GREG ECK scored a team-high 16 points off the bench in the victory.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
The Lions are 6-7 on the year, including a 3-7 mark within the NJAC. They are on a two-game losing skid, falling to nationally-ranked Christopher Newport 89-52 on January 17 and Rowan 101-79 on Wednesday. They trailed by just a point at halftime in the Rowan game but got outscored 21-8 over the final 6:22. Anthony DiCaro notched a triple-double of 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Danny Bodine had a double-double of 23 points and 12 boards.
 
LAST MEETING
TCNJ edged Montclair 88-87 in double-overtime on December 4. The Lions led by 13 midway through the first period, but the Red Hawks closed to within one on a three-pointer by AMARI MILLS at the end of the period. With the Lions up one in the second overtime, Montclair had multiple chances to take the lead but could not capitalize and fell by a point. DEVIN COOPER scored 26 points while IRVING CALLENDER IV added 24.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 96-74 all-time against the Lions, with the two sides splitting the previous eight matchups. Montclair is 19-26 away from the friendly confines of the Panzer Athletic Center, where they are 29-17.
