Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State football team visits Salisbury for a Saturday afternoon to open New Jersey Athletic Conference action Saturday.

The Red Hawks are led by Head Coach Rick Giancola, who enters his 40th season at the helm. He enters the 2022 campaign as the active winningest coach in Division III and is fourth among all NCAA coaches. He has led MSU to 11 NJAC titles and nine NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (2-2) fell to WPI 10-0 last Saturday. NICHOLAS BURGESS led the defense with 13 tackles, while OMARIE WILMORE tallied seven stops, including 2.5 for loss. Wilmore and JAKE CUSANO tallied sacks while BRENNAN RAY added his first interception of the season.

SCOUTING SALISBURY
Salisbury enters the game with a 3-1 mark, including shutout wins over Albright and Western England. Their lone setback was a 35-21 loss to Stevenson in Week 2, but they have won two straight by a combined score of 77-14.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Montclair holds a slim 8-7 advantage in the all-time series but has dropped the last six games. The Red Hawks' last win came at Sprague Field on September 23, 2006, when they notched a 27-3 triumph.
 
LAST MEETING
The Sea Gulls picked up a 27-7 victory at Sprague Field last season. ERIC COWAN led the offense with six catches for 45 yards, while ABELLANY MENDEZ tallied the lone score of the game for MSU. OMARIE WILMORE collected 11 tackles, with MIKE RAMOS, SEAMUS NELSON, and BRENNAN RAY adding eight.
