Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State football team hosts William Paterson Saturday afternoon.

The Red Hawks are led by Head Coach Rick Giancola, who enters his 40th season at the helm. He enters the 2022 campaign as the active winningest coach in Division III and is fourth among all NCAA coaches. He has led MSU to 11 NJAC titles and nine NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (2-7) fell to Rowan 27-7 last Saturday. REILLY NELSON hauled in a 12-yard touchdown from MASON MURDOCK on the game's first possession, but they were shut out for the remainder of the contest. JAZZIR MERRICKS notched an interception as DIMITRI PALI added a sack.

SCOUTING WILLIAM PATERSON
The Pioneers are 4-5 on the year, including a 1-4 mark within the NJAC. After a 22-15 triumph over Kean on October 1, they lost four straight and outscored 97-18 over those four games.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 47-3-1 against the Pioneers, including five consecutive victories. The Pioneer's last win came on October 1, 2016, and they have never won at Sprague Field. The Red Hawks are a perfect 28-0 inside the friendly confines of Sprague.
