Volleyball: Gameday Preview vs. Rowan (NJAC Semifinals)

Montclair, NJ – The No. 5 seeded Montclair State volleyball team visits No. 1 seed Rutgers-Camden in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Semifinals Wednesday.

LAST TIME OUT
On Tuesday, the Red Hawks (17-12) rallied to top No. 4 seed Rutgers-Camden in the NJAC Quarterfinals. After dropping the first set, Montclair Stats rallied to claim the next three. LEAH HIGGINS, DELANEY ST. PIERRE, and CARLY WATERMAN posted double-doubles as the Red Hawks held Rutgers-Camden to a .080 hitting percentage over the four sets.

SCOUTING ROWAN
The Profs are 22-6 on the season and went a perfect 8-0 in the NJAC during the regular season. Rowan also went 9-2 inside Espy Gymnasium this fall and is coming off a 1-1 Rowan Quad Tournament this past weekend.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair State is 18-15 against Rowan but has dropped the last five meetings. Their previous victory came on October 31, 2017, when they notched a 3-1 win in the NJAC First Round in the Panzer Athletic Center.
 
LAST MEETING
Montclair State fell 25-14, 25-20, 16-25, and 25-23 in their last meeting on September 22. LEAH HIGGINS notched a team-high 10 kills as NADYA ACKERMANIAN recorded nine. EMILY CARCICH handed out 32 assists, while EMMA HATCHER picked up 13 digs.

UP NEXT
The winner of this match will face No. 2 Stockton or No. 3 Kean in the NJAC Championship Match Saturday at the site of the highest remaining seed.
