Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State football team visits Rowan University Saturday afternoon.

The Red Hawks are led by Head Coach Rick Giancola, who enters his 40th season at the helm. He enters the 2022 campaign as the active winningest coach in Division III and is fourth among all NCAA coaches. He has led MSU to 11 NJAC titles and nine NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (2-6) fell to Christopher Newport 14-13 Saturday on Homecoming. NICHOLAS BURGESS recorded an 85-yard interception return for a touchdown to even the game at seven right before halftime. MASON MURDOCK scampered 19-yards for a touchdown with 2:18 to go, but the extra point was missed, and CNU could run out the clock.

SCOUTING ROWAN
The Profs are 5-3 overall and 3-2 within the NJAC. They were edged by Salisbury 28-23 on October 29, as Mike Husni threw for 212 yards and three scores.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 36-24 against Rowan and has won the last five meetings. Rowan's latest triumph came on September 26, 2015, in a 13-7 win.
 
LAST MEETING
The Red Hawks notched a 20-7 victory over the Profs at Sprague Field on October 30, 2021. JAMIE HAMILTON and REILLY NELSON hauled in touchdown receptions for Ja'Quill Burch and DIMITRI PALI tallied three sacks.
