Glassboro, NJ – The Montclair State swimming and diving teams were topped by Rowan Saturday afternoon.
The men's team (3-1) fell 159-103 as the women's team (2-2) were topped 170-92.
WOMEN'S RECAP
- The Red Hawks took second in the 200-medley relay (SOPHIA SHOPOVICK, ABBY BROCK, CATTY GEYER, and ROURKE PERALTA) before JULIE TIEDEMANN was second in the 1,000-free (11:15.27). Shopovick grabbed second in the 100-back (1:01.48) before Brock tallied the first win of the afternoon in the 100-breaststroke (1:09.31).
- Geyer placed second in the 200-fly (2:17.57) before Peralta grabbed the second spot in the 50-free (25.39). Brock claimed her second win of the day in the 200-breast (2:34.5), as Tiedemann and Shopovick tallied their second second-place times of the afternoon.
- The Red Hawks closed out the day with a second-place mark of 3:51.68 in the 400-freestyle relay, with KATE CIPOLETTI, Shopovick, Tiedemann, and JULIANA SKOPP-CARDILLO finishing the day.
MEN'S RECAP
- RYAN KAPPES notched a first-place time in the 1,000-free, clocking in at 10:13.36 which was 15 seconds faster than his opponent. Teammate SEAN NUGENT was second, finishing in 10:28.78.
- SPENSER DUBOIS won the 100-breaststroke, finishing in 58.08 as JARED GAYNOR and JOHN ENGLERT went 2-3 in the 200-fly.
- LUCAS GOMES was edged by .1 in the 50-free, finishing second in 21.8 before claiming the 100-free in 48.24. Dubois recorded his second victory of the day in the 200-breaststroke, touching the wall in 2:12.03.
- Gomes added his second victory of the day in the 100-fly, clocking in at 53.85. Dubois and BRANDON DO went 2-3 in the 200-IM to close out the day, with Dubois finishing in 2:02.56. He was clipped by .37 seconds as Do was third in 2:03.45.
