Men's Basketball: Game Day Preview vs. Alvernia

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State men's basketball team faces Alvernia in the first day of the Al Senavitis Memorial Tournament Thursday.
 
GAME INFO
Tip-off in Center Valley, Pa., is scheduled for 7 pm at DeSales University's Billera Hall. At 5 pm, DeSales and Ursinus will face off in the tournament's opening game.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (9-0) downed Centenary 96-81 on December 17. Montclair scored 65 points in the first half as KEYON PRYCE led five scorers in double-figures with 22 points. SAMAR ABDULLAH and AMIR WILLIAMS chipped in 10 points off the bench as KIERAN FLANAGAN became the first Red Hawk with 10 assists in a game since Myles Mitchell-White in 2018.

SCOUTING ALVERNIA
The Golden Wolves are 8-2 on the year and are riding a four-game winning streak. After dropping a 78-76 game to Widener in their MAC Commonwealth opener, Alvernia has notched victories over Stevenson, York, Albright, and Marywood.
 
LAST MEETING
In their only previous meeting, Alvernia picked up a 66-63 win on November 19, 2005. Gian Paul Gonzalez notched a team-high 19 points as Jonathan Arthur posted a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The consolation game will start at 5 pm Friday, with the championship game scheduled for 7 pm.
