Women's Lacrosse: Game Day Preview vs. Stevens

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State women's lacrosse team hosts in-state rival Stevens tomorrow evening.

LAST TIME OUT
On Monday afternoon, the Red Hawks (1-3) dropped a heartbreaker to SUNY Geneseo 12-11. Montclair battled back from 4-0 and 6-3 deficits to force overtime. CHELSEA STACK and MORGAN CONNON scored late to push Montclair State in front, but Madelynn Brown scored with 2:07 in regulation to send the affair to overtime. 37 seconds into the extra session, Emily Salanger potted the game-winner to give Geneseo the 12-11 victory.

SCOUTING THE DUCKS
The Ducks are perfect 5-0 on the year and have topped a pair of NJAC foes. They downed Kean 16-1 on March 2 before knocking off Rowan 12-9 on March 5. In their last two contests, they beat Alvernia 14-13 and Albright 13-10.
 
LAST MEETING
Stevens escaped with an 11-10 win in their previous meeting on February 26, 2020. Sydnee Sapp scored with 8:03 left in the second half to extend the MSU lead to 10-8, but the Ducks finished off the game with three consecutive tallies, including the final one with 14 seconds left to give Stevens the victory.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Ducks hold a 15-9 advantage in the series, winning three of the last four meetings. The Red Hawks' last win came on February 27, 2019, as they notched a 16-10 win. Chelsea Orban scored seven times as Jessica Andreula netted four.
 
UP NEXT
The Red Hawks continue their homestand to host Moravian university on Saturday at 3 pm.
