Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State field hockey team starts their 2022 campaign by facing RPI Thursday evening.

2021 REWIND
The Red Hawks posted six victories last season, including a 2-1 triumph over Stevens, who went to the NCAA Tournament last fall. CARLIE VAN TASSEL was named Second Team NFHCA All-Region and First Team All-NJAC, while LAUREN PICKUL gained Honorable Mention All-NJAC laurels.

SCOUTING MIT
The Engineers went 13-5 last year, advancing to the NEWMAC Championship Game, where they fell to Babson 1-0. Paige Forester was the NFHCA Regional Player of the Year and a First Team NFHCA All-American selection. The Engineers enter the season ranked 20th in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll, gaining 143 points.

LAST MEETING
In the only previous meeting between the two schools, Montclair State notched a 4-0 win on September 1, 2019. Kellie Vizzuso scored two goals and added an assist, while Elizabeth Cimilluca tallied a goal and an assist in the victory. Nicole Andriani denied five shots to earn the shutout victory.
