Women's Volleyball Wins Two on Opening Day

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Gettysburg, Pa. – The Montclair State volleyball picked up a pair of victories during the opening day of the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic Friday.

The Red Hawks (2-0) downed Gallaudet 25-23, 24-26, 25-18, and 25-17 before topping Penn State-Altoona 3-1 in the nightcap. Set scores for the Penn State-Altoona match were unavailable as of press time.

Montclair State was paced by 24 kills from LEAH HIGGINS against just three errors. The 24 kills set a career-high for the Leonia, NJ native after registering 19 last year against Farmingdale State. Rookie MIA CAPRIGLIONE tallied five blocks as DELANEY ST. PIERRE handed out 42 assists. St. Pierre and KATIE RODMAN led the way with 13 digs apiece.

The Red Hawks close out the Battlefield Classic tomorrow, taking on Drew at 1 pm before battling host Gettysburg at 3 pm.
