Volleyball: Gameday Preview vs. Drew and Gettysburg

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State volleyball team closes out the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic with a pair of matches Saturday.

The Red Hawks will face Drew at 1 pm before taking on host Gettysburg at 3 pm.

LAST TIMEOUT
On the tournament's first day, the Red Hawks picked up four-set victories over Gallaudet and Penn State-Altoona. LEAH HIGGINS notched a career-best 24 kills in the win over Gallaudet as KATIE RODMAN and DELANEY ST. PIERRE chipped in 13 digs each.

SCOUTING DREW
In their first season of volleyball, the Rangers posted a 19-9 record, including a 2-5 mark in the Landmark Conference. As of the press time, the Rangers were 0-1 during the 2022 campaign, dropping a five-set match to Salisbury.

SCOUTING GETTYSBURG
The Bullets picked up a pair of victories on the tournament's opening day, topping Penn State-Mont Alto in three sets and Catholic in four. In the win over Catholic, Zanze Kuba-McCoy tallied 17 kills and seven digs in the victory.

SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 0-1 against Drew and 0-2 against Gettysburg all-time. Montclair State and Gettysburg have not met since the 2015 campaign when the Bullets recorded a five-set victory, battling back from two sets down.

LAST MEETING
Montclair State fell in five sets to Drew on September 9, 2021, despite a career-high 30 digs from KATELYN MONAGHAN. MSU and Gettysburg last met on September 12, 2015, with Courtney Matlock tallying 19 kills and Kimberly Matlock handing out 29 assists.
