Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State field hockey team hosts DeSales Wednesday evening.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (0-2) were edged by Union College 2-1 Saturday afternoon. Trailing 2-0 early in the second quarter, the Red Hawks got within a goal as LAUREN ZULTOWSKI tallied her first career goal in the 25th minute. Montclair State could not get any closer, and the Dutch picked up the victory. SADIE EICHLIN added her first career defensive save while LAUREN PICKUL made seven saves in the cage.

SCOUTING DESALES
The Bulldogs are 2-0 on the season, topping Moravian and Muhlenberg in overtime. Tyra Wingle scored twice in regulation against the Mules, with Caroline McGrath recording the game-winning goal in overtime.

SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 2-0 all-time against DeSales, winning 1-0 in 2018 and 5-2 in 2021. In the 2018 matchup, Kailey Dalgauer scored the game-winning goal in the 55th minute off a feed from Elizabeth Cimilluca.

LAST MEETING
In the high-scoring affair last year, Montclair left Center Valley, Pa., with a 5-2 win. CARLIE VAN TASSEL tallied her first career hat trick, while LINDSEY BICHER and LINSEY CHAMPA added goals in the win. LAUREN PICKUL denied 12 shots to earn the victory.
