Montclair, NJ – Junior
MADISON LEECH of the Montclair State University softball team attended the Athletic Leadership Connection with the Women's Sports Foundation at the Morgan Stanley Global Headquarters in New York City on Wednesday.
"On Wednesday, I got the opportunity to attend the Athletic Leadership Connection as a part of the Women's Sport Foundation," explained Leech. "I had a great time getting to hear from so many great female leaders, connecting with new people and most importantly getting to meet Billie Jean King and Julie Foudy."
Industry leaders, sports experts, and champion athletes were brought together to address the specific issues that female athletes face while competing in their sport or during their transition from competition to their next professional opportunity.
The by-invitation-only event was attended by NCAA student-athletes and world-champion athletes Billie Jean King and Julie Foudy.
"In celebration of International Day of the Girl, we were truly excited to nominate Maddie Leech for this amazing opportunity," said Assistant Director of Athletics for Student Development/Senior Women's Administrator Tara Rienecker. "Maddie had the unique chance to meet and talk with Women's Sports industry leaders. This experience was a once-in-a-lifetime day to hear the legendary Billie Jean King and Julie Foudy speak about the future of women's sports at all levels. I'm looking forward to Maddie sharing her experience with her fellow student-athletes at Montclair State University."
