Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University football team hosts Rowan University on Saturday afternoon.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (4-3, 2-1 NJAC) clipped William Paterson 14-13 on Saturday. The Pioneers took a 13-7 lead with 9:22 remaining, but KEYSHAWN DIXON blocked the extra point. ABELLANY MENDEZ scored the game-winning touchdown with 2:35 left, and ALEX BUCHWALD notched his second interception of the day in the endzone with 58 seconds left to preserve the victory.

SCOUTING ROWAN
The Profs are 2-5 on the season, including a 1-2 mark in the NJAC. After escaping TCNJ with a last-second 9-7 win on October 7, the Profs have dropped their last two contests.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 36-25 against Rowan, including a 20-9 mark at Sprague Field. The Red Hawks notched seven straight wins from 1984 – 1990 as the Profs countered with eight from 1991 – 1998.
 
LAST MEETING
Montclair was topped 27-7 by Rowan on November 5, 2022. REILLY NELSON hauled in a 12-yard touchdown from MASON MURDOCK, with ABELLANY MENDEZ gaining 95 yards on the ground. NICHOLAS BURGESS led the defense with 12 tackles, as DIMITRI PALI and JAKE COLON had 2.5 tackles for loss.
