Football Falls To Muhlenberg In Season Finale

Montclair, NJ. - The Montclair State University football team dropped a 45-14 decision to nationally-ranked Muhlenberg College in its season finale on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Hawks (5-5, 4-2 NJAC) trailed 7-0 after the Mules used a 14-play, 86-yard drive to score the opening touchdown.
  • On the ensuing possession, the Red Hawks chewed up 6:52, going 82 yards in 15 plays for the tying score. AIDAN MCLAUGHLIN kept the drive alive with a 10-yard pass to HENRY LEWIS on 3rd and nine before Lewis scampered for nine yards on 3rd and 7. At the Mules 26, Lewis broke free and went in for the 26-yard score, leveling the game seven.
  • The Mules broke the game open, scoring 28 points over the final 9:03 of the second quarter, and entered the half up 35-7. Montclair looked poised to score right before the break, but McLaughlin's pass to ANTHONY ROIGE was broken up.
