Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University volleyball team hosts the United States Merchant Marine Academy in a non-conference tilt on Friday evening.

On Friday, the Red Hawks (14-12, 3-5 NJAC) topped Hunter in straight sets. SKYE RAMSEY paced the Red Hawks with 12 kills as RACHEL CURRAN added 10. LILY THOMAS tallied four blocks, with KATIE RODMAN picking up a team-best 14 digs.

SCOUTING USMMA
The Mariners enter the contest with a 13-10 mark, including a 9-2 record in the Skyline Conference. They snapped a three-match losing skid in their last outing against Mount St. Vincent on October 26.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 9-4 against the Merchant Marine Academy and has notched four consecutive wins. The Mariners' last win in the series came on September 6, 2014, as they outlasted the Red Hawks in five sets. Before the three-game losing streak, USMMA reeled off eight consecutive victories.

LAST MEETING
Montclair topped USMMA 3-1 on September 7, 2019. CARLY WATERMAN slammed home 16 kills to go along with nine digs, with Megan O'Rourke handing out 42 assists. Defensively, Siyara Herbert picked up a team-best 13 digs.
