Montclair, NJ – Head Coach Brian McLaughlin notched his 200th win as head coach of the Montclair State University men's swimming & diving team as they split a tri-meet with Ramapo and Rowan on Friday.
 
The Red Hawks topped Ramapo 189-70 but fell to Rowan 161.5-98.5.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Montclair got started with a second-place time in the 200-medley relay as LUCAS GOMES, SPENSER DUBOIS, JOHN MORRIS, and MICHAEL WOJCIECHOWICZ turned in a time of 1:36.73. Senior RYAN KAPPES registered a second-place mark of 10:17.73 in the 1,000-free as ANTHONY FERRARO was behind him in 10:29.03.
• Dubois got the first victory of the day as he claimed first place in the 50-breaststroke in 26.68. Gomes made it two wins for Montclair as he edged out a triumph in the 100-free. The junior touched the wall in 47.86, besting his closest competitor by .51 seconds.
• The senior Dubois notched win number two on the day in the 100-breaststroke, clocking in at 58.65. Kappes took his second second-place finish of the day in the 500-free, claiming a mark of 5:00.19. LUCAS MIGLIN was third in 5:06.32.
• Gomes matched Dubois with two wins, as he won the 50-butterfly in 23.4, winning by a mere .38. Dubois took third in the 200-IM (28.09) as the 200-freestyle relay team of DENNIS DELARGY, Ferraro, ADRIAN GONZALEZ, and Matthew Dettlinger were third in 1:30.75.

After a winter training trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, the Red Hawks return to action on January 20 to battle the Coast Guard at 1 pm.
