Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University swimming and diving teams close out their home slate on Friday as they host Ramapo College and Rowan University.

LAST TIME OUT (WOMEN)
The women's team finished third at the Gettysburg Invitational with 531 points. The Red Hawks opened the morning session with a fourth-place time in the 200-medley relay.
SOPHIA SHOPOVICK,
ABBY BROCK,
MADELINE ROGERS, and
ROURKE PERALTA clocked in at 1:51.82. After a strong performance yesterday,
MARIANNE TASSINARI grabbed third in 400-IM, finishing in 4:42.55.
CATTY GEYER (1:02.24) and Rogers (1:02.5) were top-11 in the 100-butterfly as Peralta (2:01.08),
JULIE TIEDEMANN (2:01.54) and
JULIANA SKOPP-CARDILLO (2:04.01) finished consecutively in the 200-freestyle. Shopovick claimed sixth in the 100-backstroke (1:01), while
JULIA WEINREB was 10th in 1:03.56. Tiedemann (18.38.18) and Gadzinski (18:45.38) went back-to-back in the 1,650-freestyle as Peralta claimed sixth in the 100-freestyle (52.69). She missed third place by a mere .49 seconds. Tassinari led three swimmers in the top 10 of the 200 breast, taking fifth in 2:31.18.
LAST TIME OUT (MEN)
The men are placed third with 530 points in the Gettysburg Invitational. Montclair grabbed fifth in the 200-medley relay, as

SPENSER DUBOIS,
JOHN MORRIS, and
LUCAS GOMES clocked in at 1:37.56.
RYAN KAPPES tallied a fifth-place time of 4:21.41 in the 400-IM, with
TRISTAN LEE (4:27.52) and Morris (4:29.45) notching top-10 marks. Dubois took third in the 100-breastroke in 58.21. Just behind him was Lee, who finished fifth in 1:01.53.
LUCAS MIGLIN,
ANTHONY FERRARO, Kappes, and
MICHAEL WOJCIECHOWICZ were fourth in the 800-free relay, finishing 7:18.92. Kappes finished eighth in the 1,650-freestyle (17:23.98), and DeLargy was ninth in the 200-back (2:02.71). Gomes turned in a time of 48.19 in the 100-free, with Wojciechowicz behind him in 48.91. Dubois placed sixth in the 200-breast (2:11.19) as Lee (2:14.98) and
BRANDON DO (2:15.45) were behind him in the top-10. Englert (2:02.16) led three swimmers in the top 10 of the 200-fly, with Morris (2:05.7) and
JARED GAYNOR (2:08.11) placing eighth and 10th, respectively.
SERIES HISTORY
The women's team is 17-3 against Ramapo, including seven consecutive victories. The Roadrunner's last victory came on January 31, 2016, as they edged Montclair 134.5-127.5. The women's side is 9-41-1 against Rowan and hasn't notched a win since January 17, 2015. The Red Hawks did draw with Rowan on November 6, 2021, with both sides notching 150 points. The men's side is 16-6 against Ramapo and 0-41 against Rowan. Montclair has notched three consecutive over the Roadrunners.

The Red Hawks head to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for their annual Winter Training Trip in early January, before they return to action on January 20 to face the Coast Guard.
