HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The game opened with both teams finding baskets as a William Paterson layup tied the game at 12 4:36 into the contest. Montclair State used a 17-2 spurt, finished with KEYON PRYCE's layup to stretch the lead to 15 midway through the frame.

  • Montclair State shot 58.6% (17-of-29) from the floor while limiting William Paterson to 11-of-34 in the first 20 minutes.
  • The Pioneers closed to six four 4:31 into the second half, but Breeman converted a second chance opportunity to stop a 13-3 run. After an additional WPU basket, Pryce drained a three to start a 15-2 spurt of their own.
  • Breeman capped the run with a three-pointer with 9:01 to go, extending the leaf to 17. The Pioneers could only get as close as 15 the rest of the way, as Pryce and Jackson hit from deep on back-to-back trips down the floor to help put the game away.

FROM THE COURT
"The most important thing is to thank all the fans for getting to panzer tonight. Special shout-out to football and baseball. We will be sure to return the favor. Thought our guys really shared the ball, and we shot it at a high rate. We got some great efforts off the bench from (Amari) Mills, Leem (KALLEEM LAMBERT), and Fran (FRANCISCO PAULINO). Always great to be able to play in a packed PAC. Our guys enjoyed the moment and did a great job of staying connected all game." – Head Coach Justin Potts.
