Galloway, NJ – The Montclair State women's basketball team fell to Stockton 65-45 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Stockton took an 8-3 lead early in the first before TERESA WOLAK, and BRIANNA MONTAJES netted three points apiece to start a 9-0 spurt. A three-pointer from rookie SHANNON HUGHES polished off the run.
Montclair took a slim 18-17 lead into the second as NICKIE CARTER finished the first quarter scoring with a three-pointer.
ISABELLA ORLANDO extended the Montclair State lead to six with a jumper in the paint with 5:31 to go in the opening half, but the Ospreys finished the second stanza with a 13-0 spurt to grab a seven-point advantage at halftime.
The hosts held Montclair scoreless over the first 7:24 of the third before Wolak stopped the rally with free throws. The two sides combined for only 21 points in the fourth quarter, as Hughes hit another three-pointer before MADELYN MCCREA capped the scoring with 25 seconds left.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

Carter paced Montclair with 12 points while adding four rebounds and two steals.
Wolak tallied eight points with six boards as Hughes and Montajes combined for 10 markers.
A game-high 14 points led Stockton from Emma Morrone.
