Rowan Tops Women's Lacrosse In NJAC Action

Glassboro, NJ – The Montclair State women's lacrosse team fell to Rowan University 21-2 in their season-finale Saturday.

JOELLE D'ANGELO scored both goals for Montclair State (4-11, 1-4 NJAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Profs scored 35 seconds into the contest before D'Angelo answered with an unassisted marker nearly two minutes later. Rowan netted the next three tallies, with MARGIE QUINTANA linking up with D'Angelo making it 4-2 Profs.
Rowan scored the next two goals of the first quarter before holding the Red Hawks shot-less over the second and third frames to break the game open. Senior KAITLIN ZAZZARO recorded one final shot with 14 left in the game for the Red Hawks, but the Profs goalkeeper denied her try.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

D'Angelo had three of the Red Hawks' six shots, with all three on goal. The sophomore had three ground balls, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers.
SAMANTHA HANDZO registered two caused turnovers, with OLIVIA DALLY, DANIELLE DE JESUS, and AVA ABBATIELLO adding one each.
Goalkeeper JOEY GROTKOPF made 11 saves in the setback.
