Men's Swimming Upends William Paterson In Regular Season Finale

Wayne, NJ – The Montclair State University men's swimming & diving team closed out the regular season with a 124-55 triumph over William Paterson University on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Montclair (5-5) tallied the top two marks in the meet-opening 200-medley relay. The group of DENNIS DELARGY, Matthew Dettlinger, SPENSER DUBOIS, and ADRIAN GONZALEZ took first in 1:42.04 as BRANDON DO, JARED GAYNOR, JOHN MORRIS, and ANTHONY FERRARO were second in 1:44.6. RYAN KAPPES (17:11.62) and TRISTAN LEE (17:43.75) went back-to-back in the 1,650-free as Gonzalez (1:52.66), JOHN ENGLERT (1:53.02), and SEAN NUGENT claimed the top-three spots in the 200-free.
The wins continued to pile up for Montclair as Dubois won the 50-free (22.95) and 100-butterfly (54.73), with DeLargy placing first in the 100-free (50.36) and second in the 50-free (23.64). LUCAS GOMES tallied a victory in the 200-IM (2:03.65), as Dettlinger (2:05.87) and Morris (2:06.79) were behind him.
Englert (51.31) and Gonzalez (51.63) finished behind DeLargy in the 100-free before Do capped off the winning ways with a triumph in the 100-back (56.11). MICHAEL WOJCIECHOWICZ was behind him in 57.24, as Ferraro was third in 58.53.
