Men's Basketball Topped by Stockton

Montclair, NJ The Montclair State men's basketball team fell to Stockton 95-81 on Saturday afternoon at the Panzer Athletic Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Hawks (9-5, 4-3 NJAC) fell behind early as Stockton scored the first four points of the game and opened up a 10-6 lead after the opening four minutes. Montclair battled back to claim its first lead of the contest at the 13:02 mark on a layup by KEYON PRYCE
  • The home side opened up a double-digit advantage after a 14-6 run that was capped off by layups from Pryce and AMIR WILLIAMS. The Ospreys answered with 22 of the next 28 points to regain a six-point lead with three minutes left in the half.
  • Montclair received timely buckets from KYREE HENRY and KUNGA TSERING in the waning stages of the half, but Stockton went into the break up 43-39.
  • The Ospreys jumped out to a nine-point advantage 90 seconds into the second half. After AHMAD ROBERTSON connected on a three-point shot to make the score 49-45, Stockton rattled off a quick 8-0 run to take a 12-point lead.
  • Montclair would come as close as seven the rest of the way, as Stockton led by as much as 25.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • QUANTAVIOUS ROGERS led Montclair with a season-high 16 points in 11 minutes off the bench.
  • MIKE JACKSON scored 15 points, marking the 10th time this season he has struck for 15 or more. Henry (12 points) and Tsering (11 points) were the other two Red Hawks in double-figures.
  • Montclair forced 25 Stockton turnovers in the contest.

"Thought Stockton played very well and DJ (Campbell) showed why he is one of best players in our league. We need to be better and more consistent in all phases of the game and need to increase our urgency level." Head Coach Justin Potts.
