Montclair, NJ- The Montclair State Swimming and Diving Team hosted their first meet of the season and downed Drew, 181-107 on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MICHAEL SALVATORI had another outstanding meet for the Red Hawks as he matched his first-meet performance with another three first-place finishes. He took individual wins in the 200 free (1:45.24), 200 back (1:56.22) and 200 IM (1:57.75).
- VINCENT TERZO came up big for the Red Hawks once again with first-place finishes in both long distance events. He touched the wall first in both the 500 free with a time of 4:56.34 and the 1000 free with a time of 10:09.24
- In his first time diving this season, BOBBY FREECE was victorious in both diving jumps. In the 1M dive, he scored a 131.15 and a 194.55 that was first in each event. He also swam in the 200 free and placed right behind Salvatori in second with a time of 1:48.91.
- The Red Hawks also saw individual wins from LUCAS GOMES in the 50 free when he clocked a 21.88, RYAN KAPPES in the 100 back when he clocked a 55.18 and BRANDON DO in the 100 breast when he clocked a 1:01.46. Gomes also placed second in the 100 free (48.33) and third in the 100 fly (53.16). Kappes notched a third-place finish in the 200 IM (2:06.35). Do touched the wall second in the 200 breast (2:13.58) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:08.35).
- Montclair saw two relay teams take first in the meet as well. The 200 free relay "A" team of Salvatori, TRISTAN LEE, PETER JARZAB, and Gomes swam a 1:38.06 while the 400 free relay team of Freece, ANTHONY FERRARO, DENNIS DELARGY, and MICHAEL WOJCIECHOWICZ swam a 3:16.75.

Montclair State University takes a trip next week to Pennsylvania for a matchup with Division II Kutztown on Saturday, October 26. The meet is scheduled to start at 1:00pm.
