The two teams starting exchanging points back-and-forth up until a 22-6 Red Hawks lead. NJCU notched four straight points, but was countered by Montclair's three to take set one 25-10. Curran, Thomas and CAMRYN MUUSS hammered down the final three kills for Montclair.
- Set two was a consistent exchange of points between both teams with no set controlling run happening on either side. There were six lead changes and 13 tied scored throughout the set. The Gothic Knights had a lead of the 13-10 and looked to pull away, but Muuss fired down a pair of kills to cut the lead to 13-12. Two attack errors and kills from Curran and Muuss helped them retake the lead. The set eventually went to extra points after a 25-25 tie. Both teams took a point before Montclair saw back-to-back kills from Curran and Muuss and held on for a 28-26 set two victory.
