Ewing, NJ – The fourth-seeded Montclair State University fell to No. 9 and top-seeded The College of New Jersey in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Semifinals on Wednesday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• ·The Lions opened the game with 11 first-quarter tallies while limiting Montclair to shot one from KAELEY SEK midway through the frame. JOEY GROTKOPF denied three TCNJ chances in the opening 15 minutes as NORAH MONAGHAN forced two turnovers.
• ·The lead swelled to 15 at the half, and Montclair was paced by two caused turnovers from Monaghan and KAYA NASCIMENTO in the first half. Grotkopf stopped five tries in the first half for the Red Hawks.
• ·The Lions reeled off four goals in the third before capping off the contest with a final tally in the fourth to establish the final margin.

• ·Monaghan tallied five draw controls, and three caused turnovers while adding a shot on goal.
• ·Grotkopf made eight saves in the setback.
• ·CARA MCCARTNEY picked up a team-high two ground balls.
• ·SAMANTHA HANDZO and Nascimento contributed a pair of caused turnovers on the defensive end.
