Women's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw Against Moravian

Montclair, NJ The Montclair State University women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw with Moravian on Wednesday night at MSU Soccer Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Hawks (2-3-4) opened the contest with a shot on goal from EMMI DENOVELLIS in the fourth minute and continued to push on the front foot, outshooting the Greyhounds 5-1 over the opening 30 minutes.
  • Montclair continued their offensive push, as AILEEN CAHILL slotted a shot towards the bottom center of goal that had to be collected by Moravian in the 34th minute. The home side added four more attempts over the remainder of the frame, but the sides remained locked at zero at the break.
  • SHANNON MULLINS ripped a shot towards the top of the net in the early stages of the second half, with KYLIE PRENDERGAST adding a shot on target four minutes later. that had to be saved in the bottom right corner of the net.
  • After SALANGE BELL collected a save on a Moravian shot in the 72nd minute, Montclair came close to scoring three minutes later, as Cahill sent a shot that rattled off the crossbar. Seven minutes later, NATALIE RUFINO ripped a shot that knocked off the post, preventing another scoring opportunity for the Red Hawks.
  • Montclair made one final push, but the Moravian defense stood strong to hold on for the draw between the two sides.

  • The Red Hawks out-shot the Greyhounds 20-4 in the contest, including a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal.
  • Bell tallied two saves in net and notched her first collegiate shutout for Montclair.
