LAST TIME OUT
Montclair played to a 1-1 draw with SUNY New Paltz on September 4. After a scoreless first half, New Paltz took the lead in the 51st minute on a goal generated from the left sideline that was centered on a rolling ball into the top edge of the box that was put in on a one-touch finish. The Red Hawks pushed in the final 10 minutes to equalize, as TARA LAMBERT sent a shot towards the top left corner of the net that was saved by New Paltz. They found their goal in the 85th minute to level it, as AILEEN CAHILL made a run down the near side edge of the box and sent in a cross to MACKENZIE ALBERT, who immediately flicked the ball past the keeper.

SCOUTING HARTFORD
The Hawks kicked off their 2024 campaign with a scoreless draw to Bowdoin on September 3. They went 16-2 during the 2023 season and finished the year with 12 consecutive victories. Hartford took down NJCU and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg by a combined 13-2 to clinch the ECAC Championship in postseason play. The Hawks were tabbed first in the 2024 Conference of New England Preseason Coaches Poll and were ranked 23rd in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 Poll.

SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks and Hawks will meet for the second time in their history, coming in consecutive years. Hartford claimed the only meeting between the teams on September 3, 2023.

LAST MEETING
Montclair fell to Hartford 4-1 on September 3, 2023 at MSU Soccer Park. HALEY MARTIN prevented a one-on-one chance with a save early on in the contest, and the Red Hawks broke through 24 minutes into the opening half. EMMI DENOVELLIS had a throw-in that found the foot of KYLIE PRENDERGAST, who got to the edge of the box and crossed to MADELINE LESICA, who tapped the pass into the net. Hartford responded with four goals in the first 21 minutes of the second half to build a three-goal advantage that they would not relinquish.
