Montclair, NJ- The Montclair State University Men's Lacrosse team and Head Coach Matt Poskay have unveiled their 2025 season schedule on Thursday afternoon.
Their spring schedule consists of 15 games, including seven games on Sprague Field, five away contests, three neutral site matchups, and five in the Coastal Lacrosse Conference.
The Red Hawks will kick off their campaign on February 22 at 1:00 pm on Sprague Field when they host Penn College. They will then hit the road for a pair of games at Western Connecticut on February 26 and SUNY New Paltz on March 1 before returning home for a March 5 matchup under the lights against Scranton.
Montclair will then travel up to Scranton, Pa. for a faceoff with Marywood on March 12 and will follow it by competing in the Tom Leanos Cup, hosted by Drew University. Their first-round matchup will take place on March 14 against Manhattanville. Depending on the results of their game against the Valiants, they will take on either Drew or Immaculata in the championship game or the consolation contest.
Following the Tom Leanos Cup, the Red Hawks will face Maritime College at the University of Delaware. They will follow that contest up with their final two non-conference slates: DeSales on March 22 and Widener on March 26.
The Red Hawks will finish off their regular season with their Coastal Lacrosse Conference matchups. They will travel first for a matchup with Christopher Newport on March 29 before kicking off April with home contests against Mary Washington (April 5) and Stockton (April 12). They will then travel to take on Kean on April 16 before finishing off the regular season on Sprague Field for an April 19 matchup with Salisbury.
The Coastal Lacrosse Conference playoffs will take place on April 27 with the third seed taking on the sixth seed and the fourth seed hosting the fifth seed (the top two teams get a first-round bye). The winners will advance to the semifinals on April 30 and a champion will be crowned on May 4.
Montclair will hope to improve this season after posting a 4-10 overall record and a 0-5 CLC record in 2024.
