Montclair, NJ - The Montclair State volleyball team hits the road for tri-match action in Dallas, Pa., taking on Moravian and Misericordia on Saturday.

Montclair saw its nine-match win streak get snapped on the road in NJAC play against Rowan, 3-0. The Red Hawks took an early 4-3 lead on a service ace fromÂ
EMMA HATCHER, but the Profs notched five of the next six to build a three-point advantage. Rowan continued to push offensively as they extended the lead to 16-8 before Montclair answered with a kill fromÂ
SOFIA DIPROFIOÂ followed by an attack error from the Profs. The home side countered with a pair of points, but the Red Hawks rattled off five in a row, headlined by two aces from Hatcher. Three of the next four from Montclair cut the deficit to one, but Rowan closed the opening stanza with six of the final eight points. After the Profs jumped out to a 9-4 lead in the early stages of the second frame, Montclair bounced back with a 7-1 run to take the lead, capped off by back-to-back service aces fromÂ

CAMRYN MUUSSÂ equalized with a kill. The home side embarked on an extended run to claim the set, notching 12 of the final 13 points. Montclair began the third stanza strong with three consecutive points, including kills from Cornelius and Muuss. Rowan battled back to take the lead at 7-5, but the Red Hawks tallied six of the next seven to go back up by three. The home side used a 5-1 run to reclaim the advantage, but the Red Hawks countered again with five-straight, headlined by a pair of kills fromÂ

LILY THOMASÂ recorded a kill to push Montclair ahead 22-19, but the Profs answered with five of the next six to push match point. An attack error tied the contest at 24, but Rowan tallied the final two points to take the conference victory.

The Greyhounds enter this tri-match with an 11-8 overall record after besting Wilkes, 3-0 this past Tuesday. In 2024, Moravian compiled a 17-13 overall record and a 4-5 Landmark record and missed out on the conference tournament. According to the Landmark Preseason Poll, the Greyhounds are projected to finish seventh.

SCOUTING MISERICORDIA Â
The Cougars enter Saturday's tri-match 14-6 on the season and are winners of their last four matches, most recently earning a 3-1 win on Tuesday against FDU-Florham. In 2024, Misericordia had a nice season with a 25-9 overall record and a 5-2 record in the MAC Freedom. In the conference playoffs, they swept DeSales in the semifinals, but were outlasted in the MAC Freedom championship by Stevens, 3-2. According to the 2025 Preseason Poll, they are predicted to finish second again.

Montclair State and Moravian will face each other for the eighth time, while the Red Hawks play Misericordia for the 10
th contest in their series. Montclair has the upper hand in both series with a 5-2 record against Moravian and a 7-2 record against the Cougars. Â
