Montclair, NJ – Top-seeded Montclair State University women's soccer team is set for battle, and they host #11 Rowan for the NJAC Championship crown on Friday evening.

LAST TIME OUT 
Montclair advanced to the NJAC Championship game with a 2-1 victory on Tuesday against fifth-seeded New Jersey City. The Red Hawks saw an early point-blank scoring opportunity in the 10th minute, as CARLY GUZZARDO sprung SAMIRA LUKOVIC with a ball over the top of the back line. The Gothic Knights keeper came off her line and parried away the one-on-one chance. Montclair outshot NJCU 5-1 over the next 15 minutes, including another shot on goal from Lukovic. In the 27th minute, MACKENZIE ALBERT wove through defenders and surged towards goal on the near side of the field. After she cut to the right and made a run towards the end line, she clipped a centering pass to KYLIE PRENDERGAST at the far post, who ripped a shot into the back of the net to put the home side in front. SALANGE BELL tallied a save in the waning moments of the half to preserve the lead going into the break. Eight minutes into the second half, the Red Hawks doubled their advantage off a set piece. Guzzardo served an in-swinging corner kick from the near side of the field that was flicked by Lukovic to Prendergast once again towards the back post. The striker settled the ball and rocketed a shot past the keeper for her second goal of the night. NJCU cut into the deficit in the 74th minute on a ball played in from a set piece from the near side of the field that was immediately headed in from the back post. The Red Hawks tightened defensively over the remainder of the night, not allowing a shot to seal the postseason victory.

SCOUTING ROWAN UNIVERSITY 
The Profs enter this matchup as the #11 team in the nation according to the United Soccer Coaches National Poll. Rowan, the second-seed in the NJAC Tournament, is coming off a 0–0 draw against third-seeded TCNJ in the NJAC Semifinals but advanced to the final after a 3–1 victory in penalties. The Profs finished conference play with a 7–0–2 record and boast the league's best defensive record, allowing just seven goals all season. They have not suffered a loss since September 13, 2025. According to the 2025 NJAC Preseason Poll, they were the favorites to win the NJAC title.
 
SERIES HISTORY 
The Red Hawks and the Profs will face off for the 38th time in their program's history. Rowan has been the better side in this series as they have 18 wins compared to Montclair's 10, with 10 ties between them. 
 
LAST MEETING 
The last time the Red Hawks met the Profs was earlier this season, when they faced off in an intense matchup that ended in a 2–2 draw at MSU Soccer Park. The goals for the Red Hawks were scored by KYLIE PRENDERGAST and SHANNON MULLINS.
