Five from Women’s Lacrosse Honored to All-NJAC Team

Pitman, NJ — The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) announced Thursday that five Montclair State University women's lacrosse players earned spots on the 2025 All-NJAC Team.

KAELEY SEK, CHELSEA STACK, NORAH MONAGHAN, and JOEY GROTKOPF were all named to the All-NJAC First Team, while SAMANTHA HANDZO received Honorable Mention honors.

Sek earned her first All-NJAC recognition after appearing in all 16 games and starting 10. She scored a career-high 43 goals—20 of which came during NJAC play, tying her for third in the conference. With four assists, she totaled 47 points on the season, 22 of which came in conference play (sixth-most in the NJAC). Sek also tallied five game-winning goals, 14 ground balls, five caused turnovers, and seven draw controls. Her standout game came in a 20–4 win over Kean, where she scored seven goals—the second-best single-game scoring performance in the NJAC this season.

Stack earned her second consecutive First Team nod after another stellar season. Starting all 16 games, she posted career-highs with 54 assists and 75 points, along with 21 goals, 20 ground balls, and five caused turnovers. Her 54 assists (3.47 per game) led the NJAC, and her 75 points ranked fourth. Her top performance came in a non-conference matchup against Mount Saint Vincent on February 26, when she recorded 10 points on two goals and a season-high eight assists.

Monaghan collected her first All-NJAC selection with a strong all-around campaign. Starting all 16 games, she recorded 32 goals, seven assists, 39 points, 62 draw controls, 33 ground balls, and 18 caused turnovers. Her 62 draw controls ranked fifth in the NJAC, and her 26 in conference play were fourth-most. She shined in a 22–8 win over Ramapo on April 12, posting four goals, one assist, and six draw controls.

Grotkopf earned her second straight First Team selection following her 2024 NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year campaign. The junior started every game in goal, finishing the season with 113 total saves and an average of 7.53 saves per game. She led all NJAC goalkeepers with 43 saves and 8.40 saves per game in conference play. Her best outing came at home against TCNJ on April 5, where she recorded a season-high 15 saves.

Handzo rounded out Montclair State's honorees, earning her first All-NJAC recognition with an Honorable Mention. She started all 16 games and contributed three goals, one assist, 26 ground balls, 26 caused turnovers, and four draw controls. Her 26 caused turnovers led the team and ranked seventh in the NJAC. Her top performance came on March 10 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she caused a career-high six turnovers in a 16–9 win over UMass-Dartmouth.

The Red Hawks tied for the second-most total and First Team selections on the 2025 All-NJAC list.

Montclair State closed out the 2025 season with a 9–7 overall record and a 3–2 mark in NJAC play.
