Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University volleyball team looks to build off a successful opening day slate with two more wins as they welcome in Washington College and Hartwick on Saturday.

SCOUTING WASHINGTON COLLEGE
The Shorewomen enter this Saturday's tri-match 0-2 after falling to both William Paterson (3-0) and Lynchburg (3-2) yesterday. In 2024, Washington was just at .500 with a 12-12 record, but a 2-8 Centennial Conference record kept them out of the conference tournament. According to the 2025 Centennial Conference Preseason Poll, the Shorewomen are projected to finish ninth in conference this season.
SCOUTING HARTWICK
The Hawks enter today with a 1-1 record to start off the season after being defeated by Kean (3-1), but bouncing back against Trine (3-0) on Friday. In 2024, Hartwick finished with an impressive 20-3 overall record and a 9-2 record in the Empire 8. In the conference tournament, however, they saw a quick exit with a first-round loss to Brockport, 3-1, that ended their season.
SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks and the Shorewomen will face off for just the first time in their program's history, and it will be just the second time Montclair takes on Hartwick. Montclair won their only meeting
LAST MEETING
The last time Montclair faced off with Hartwick was on November 1, 2013, in a match that went down to the final set, where the Red Hawks prevailed, 3-2.
UP NEXT
Montclair State University will have a week to prepare for its third tri-match of the season on Saturday, September 6, where it will welcome both Baruch and Lebanon Valley. The match against Baruch is set for noon, with Lebanon Valley slated for 4:00 p.m.
